Factors of Numbers

This applet breaks any number from 1 to 900 into all its factors, including prime numbers, square numbers, cube numbers, higher powers, as well as perfect, abundant and deficient numbers. A good start in learning about the theory of numbers.

[Applet - Number factors]

If you click on any number in the grid you'll see that number displayed on the right, together with all its factors. There is a drop-down menu so that you can get all the numbers from 1 to 900.
You can use the program to investigate which numbers have factors, how many they have, whether they are square numbers, cube numbers, higher powers, etc.

Please notice that the factor sum calculated is the sum of proper factors; the number itself is not included (otherwise the sum would be much larger!).
Look carefully! You can find out a great deal about different types of numbers. You may wish to investigate further about perfect, abundant and deficient numbers. Enjoy
